Trade relations between America and Cuba will be the focus of discussion when Governor Jay Nixon meets with U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsak, members of Congress, and agriculture industry leaders Thursday afternoon in Washington, D.C.

More than 25 food and agriculture companies have formed a coalition aimed at ending the U.S. embargo on Cuba and advancing trade relations between the nations. Thursday’s meeting will allow leaders to review the economic benefits of such a move to both the state of Missouri and Missouri farmers.
