Emergency crews responded to calls of a grain bin explosion on Friday of last week. According to Livingston County Sheriff Steve Cox, the bin was completely destroyed and blown from its foundation with a debris radius estimated to be over 200 yards.
Residents in both counties reportedly heard the explosion as there were reports from Chillicothe and Meadville from people who said they felt it shake their homes.
At this time, the cause of the explosion is under investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri Fire Marshall’s office.
The sheriff’s office says there are unconfirmed reports that similar incidents have taken place in a nearby county.
