HARRISONVILLE, Mo – A Cass County man has been charged with multiple felonies after allegedly shooting a victim outside a Raymore Walmart on Aug. 6.
According to charging documents, Joseph P. Sampson, 22, was identified by the victim in a six person photograph lineup, to be the man who assaulted and shot him twice. The victim claims he was pistol whipped when he entered a vehicle near the Walmart and was shot twice a short time later. Walmart surveillance video allegedly confirms the victim’s claims. A witness confirmed hearing two gunshots.
Sampson has been formally charged as an accessory to three counts of assault and three counts of armed criminal action.
Overland Park Police made contact with Sampson on Aug. 8, but was unable to apprehend him after he fled in his vehicle. Law enforcement found Sampson has three previous felony convictions.
A warrant is out for his arrest, carrying a cash only bond of $100,000.
