U.S. Congressman Sam Graves is calling for students interested in a nomination for a military academy to contact his office. Click to hear KMZU’s Chelsea Pounds speak with Coordinator Shawna Searcy:
Applicants need to have all requested materials by October 18th, but Searcy recommends students start early.
“Go ahead and contact the academy and get in touch with them to become familiar with their admissions process. And then please go ahead and contact your Congressman as well as both of your Senate offices to become more familiar with their application processes. Because the earlier you start on this process, the less intimidating it’s going to be and the more time you’re going to have to figure out, really, what you want to do,” said Searcy.
Candidates will be interviewed in November, and nominees will be announced in January.
