Click to hear KMZU’s Ashley Johnson speak with North Missouri Solid Waste Management District Planner Ann Hamilton:
A residential collection event is being held for Grundy County residents Saturday morning. Hamilton explained the fees associated with the items that will be accepted. “Regular passenger tires are $2 a piece, over-sized tires are $6, and tractor tires are $20,” said Hamilton, “On appliances, there is a flat $5 fee. For electronics, it’s $5 per computer system which would include the mouse, keyboard, and printer. If you have a television, there’s a $10 fee.”
Paint, oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid, aerosols, herbicides, pesticides, household batteries, car batteries, cell phones, and ink cartridges will also be accepted.
“We do not take joint compound or anything else that’s in a compressed cylinder, “said Hamilton, “Another thing I would like to note is that is that the household hazard waste items need to be in original containers, except for used oil.”
The event will be held at 807 East 7th Street in Trenton which is located a half-mile east of the Grundy County Courthouse between 9:00 a.m. and noon on Saturday.
