The house is located in the 1500 block of Polk Street in Chillicothe. The ceremony will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00, with an open house to follow immediately. “We are hoping that everybody that wants to can come out. We’re looking for the volunteers that maybe helped on the project, Habitat supporters, and just well-wishers in the community. We just really want to, you know, welcome the family to their new neighborhood and to their new home,” said Anderson.

This is the 13th home for Chillicothe Area Habitat for Humanity. A family with three children will be moving in to the new residence.

This project has been in the works for almost two years. “Normally the Chillicothe Area Habitat group is hoping to do one house per year. That is our goal. This one had a little bit of a slower track on it, but we’re going to start with the next family, we’re going to start the next family selection this fall sometime. So the next project’s going to be lined up right after, and we’re hoping to get back on track to be able to do a home a year,” said Anderson.
