As they say, all good things must come to an end. St. Luke’s Hospital in Smithville is celebrating their 75th year of serving the area, and for the past eleven weeks they have been hosting a 75 Days of Wellness imitative, which will end on Saturday with a health expo. Click to hear KMZU’s Brian Lock talk with Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the hospital Elizabeth Shonfeld:
“To celebrate our 75 years of service in the community we have been doing 75 Days of Wellness campaign,” Shonfeld stated. “That has been eleven weeks of health and wellness activities within the community. This Saturday we are wrapping that up with a health expo. It will include lots of free screening and events. It will be fun for the kids, for adults, for everyone.”
The expo will take place at St. Luke’s Hospital in Smithville. All of the events are free and open to the general public.
“This year we are adding kid’s activities, which are new,” added Shonfeld. “We are going to have a teddy bear clinic where they can kind of see what a check-up at the doctor’s office would entail for them and have that experience with their stuffed animal. We are also having some sensory activities where they can play with water and sand and that kind of thing. We will also be offering free ambulance and fire truck tours for the kids.”
Shonfeld encourages all area residents to come out to the event and get free health screenings and more.
