Healthy U has paired with University of Central Missouri Student Dietetic Association and many Sedalia restaurants to offer consumers smarter menu options. Click to hear KMZUs Sarah Scott talk with Community Outreach Program Coordinator Sarah Nail:
“When people go out to eat at a local establishment,” explained Nail. “They might not have their nutritional information readily available on-line like many fast food chains do, however consumers can still find something that is a healthier choice that is less than 500 calories.”
Healthy U is a community health initiative started in January by selecting 12 people to be paired with nutrition and fitness coaches. In exchange, the dozen members are sharing their results with the public. The participants have lost more than 370 pounds since the start of the program in January.
