The Richmond R-XVI Board of Education is meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m.. Click to hear KMZU’s Chelsea Pounds speak with Superintendent Damon Kizzire.
Kizzire said a presentation will be given by Tremco Weathering Technologies. “The biggest thing on the agenda would be a roofing analysis. We’ve had a lot of trouble the last several years with the roof leaking in the Middle School and the High School.” He said, “With the weather being as rainy as it has been this Spring, we’ve really been fighting with it. We’re going to try and figure out how we can best go about alleviating some of that situation.”
Kizzire said the Preliminary 2013-2014 Budget will also be a notable item. “It [budget] continues to get tighter. One thing I really applaud the board for, is moving up in teacher salary.” He added, “With that in mind, trying to improve our technology and curriculum rotation, we are looking at an increase of about $500,000 to $600,000.”
Following the meeting the board will take a tour of the High School in order to prioritize future maintenance projects.
