If you’ve ever wanted to be a small town mayor it might be a good time to move to Lawson.
Nobody has filed to run for the job, which city officials say has compensation of a few hundred dollars per year.
Even without a candidate the position of mayor will appear on the Lawson ballot.
Voters can write in a candidate, but that doesn’t mean the winner would accept the job.
There is also a seat coming open on the Lawson Board of Aldermen that does not have any candidates.
