There are several items on the agenda for Monday’s Board of Aldermen meeting in Higginsville. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with City Administrator Lee Barker.
Barker said the breach in the spillway between the old and new reservoirs will be discussed at the meeting. “We’ve had safety engineers look at the dam. The engineers indicated there is no real danger or threat.” He said, “We did some work on it and filled some voids with rock, so we have it temporarily taken care of until the safety engineers come up with a more permanent solution for us.”
Barker added the Board recently received good news regarding insurance rates. “Our property and casualty insurance rates have stayed the same for four years now, which is always good to hear. ” The board will also discuss a $150,000.00 airport property and a study on the city’s electrical system.
