HIGGINSVILLE, Mo – After a three-week hiatus, a very brief agenda for the Higginsville Aldermen Board Monday evening, June 6, 2016, contained no ordinances or motions.  Even a scheduled closed session was deemed unnecessary.  While no official action was required by the board, they did take the opportunity to recognize two city employees for their service.

After approval of consent items, reports from the Utilities Department included the recognition of Chris Jones for 15 years of service in the electric department.  Mayor, Bill Kolas, presented the award.

The Transportation and Waste Management Committee reported no official items, but presented Candy Wing, with Higginsville Central Dispatch, as the second employee of the evening to receive an award for 15 years of service.

Utilities director, Mark Epperson, stated that street improvement projects were completed.  Regular repairs, such as pothole patching, would be ongoing.

The Economic Development Committee reported construction progress at the airport was ongoing.
