UPDATE: (11/17/18 1:39 a.m.) – A Sedalia woman died of injuries sustained in a collision that closed westbound Highway 50 for hours Thursday. The crash occurred a little after 2:00 p.m. yesterday, west of Route W in Pettis County. The Missouri Highway Patrol report says 51 year old Janna M. McQueen was eastbound on 50 Highway, when she traveled into the westbound lane and hit a semi head on, driven by 46 year old Bruce Robbins of Menahga, Minnesota, . McQueen was air-lifted to University Hospital in Columbia, where she was pronounced deceased around 7:00 p.m. Thursday night. No injuries were reported for Robbins.
PETTIS COUNTY, Mo. — An accident which occured in Pettis County this afternoon has shut down Highway 50 east of State Highway O, near Smithton.
A vehicle operated by 46-year-old Bruce A. Robbins, of Menahga, Minnesota, was headed west on US Highway 50 at 2:11 p.m.
A second vehicle, which was driven by 51-year-old Janna M. McQueen, of Sedalia, was headed east on the same highway, crossed the center line, and struck Robbins head on.
Robbins escaped the accident without injury but McQueen was seriously injured and taken to University Hospital in Columbia.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol shut down Highway 50 east of State Highway O after the accident and the highway remains closed at this point in time and until further notice.
