5:52 p.m. — Motorists can now pass through the intersection Highway 116 at 69 Highway after a serious accident Monday afternoon.
According to the Missouri State highway Patrol, Gregory Potter, 42, of Saint Joseph, was eastbound on 116 when a vehicle driven by Richard Daye, 86, of Holt, pulled into his path. The two collided in the middle of the intersection.
Daye was taken by LifeNet to Liberty Hospital in critical condition. Potter was uninjured during the accident.
LATHROP, Mo. — An accident at the intersection of Highway 116 and 69 sent motorists on alternate routes Monday afternoon.
Unofficial reports indicated Life Flight was in the roadway to attend to the accident. Traffic was still being diverted to alternate routes around 5:00 p.m. Monday.
The severity of injuries and status of those involved is unknown at this time.
