LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Mo. — Missouri Highway Patrol arrested a Colorado resident after recovering 21 pounds of marijuana from his vehicle.
Dennis Anthony David, 35, of Colorado Springs was arrested Thursday and is charged with two counts of distributing, manufacturing, producing, or attempting to or possession with the intent to distribute, manufacture or produce a controlled substance.
According to a probable cause statement, David was stopped for following too close in a construction zone and for window tint exceeding state law. The officer who stopped David stated he could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle and conducted a search which revealed 21 packages of marijuana and five packages of tetrahydrocannabinol infused material. The report indicates the total weight of the marijuana was 21 pounds.
A bond has been set for David at $35,000 with court dates pending.
