Holden R-III School District is hosting their 2015 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony this evening. “This year we have 4 inductees,” Remington stated, “The first is the 1948 Varsity football team. They went 9-0 during the 1948 season and they won the West Central Conference Championship.”

Everyone is invited to come out and show support for this year’s inductees. “Sandy Davidson McKeown,” said Remington, “Sandy graduated in 2005 and she was a 3 sport- 4 year Holden High School Varsity letter winner. She participated in cross country, basketball, and track all 4 years of high school. She received multiple all conference awards in cross country, basketball and track as well as being all state in both cross country and track.”

Tonight’s celebration will begin at 6 p.m. in the Holden High School Gymnasium. “Mike Roberts was a 1958 graduate of Holden High School,” Remington explained, “He was a 3 sport Varsity letter winner in football, basketball, and track. He received all state honors in track and he was an indoor state track champion for the 120 high hurdles in 1957. He went on to sign a professional baseball contract in 1958 for the Kansas City A’s.”

In true Holden Eagles fashion, the fun won’t end after the inductions. Everybody in attendance is welcome to show their team spirit at the Varsity basketball game against Higginsville, scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. “Ben Graham graduated in 2006,” detailed Remington, “He was a 3 sport Varsity letter winner for Holden High School. He played football, baseball, and basketball all 4 years. He was named an all-state pitcher his senior year. Then he furthered his baseball career at the college level playing at Hutchinson Community College and then at Emporia State University, where he pitched in the Division 2 National Championship for Emporia State in 2009.”
