RAY COUNTY, Mo. – A child abuse case filed in Ray County will be moving to Clay County after motion to change of venue.
On Tuesday afternoon, Circuit Judge Kevin L. Walden transferred the case against Melissa A. Holloway, 26, to the Clay County Circuit Court. A joint motion for change of venue was filed Tuesday morning by the Special Prosecuting Attorney assigned to the case. Melissa Holloway and her boyfriend, Mario Barreto, 29, of Camden, are each charged with 22 counts of child abuse or neglect of a 9 year old victim. Holloway also has felony charges of hindering a prosecution and tampering with a witness in a felony prosecution.
The first hearing in Clay County will be on May 1st.
