CLAY COUNTY, Mo. — A Holt resident has been charged with felony driving while intoxicated along with other charges after an accident in Clay County this morning.

At 3:00 this morning, Andrew Prewitt, 31, was traveling northbound on Interstate 35 at the 22.8 mile marker at a high rate of speed and no headlights. According to a crash report, Prewitt struck the rear of another vehicle driven by Chantel Linton, 35, of Cameron.

A passenger in Linton’s vehicle, Hannah Ireland, 21, of Cameron reported minor injuries and was transported to North Kansas City Hospital for treatment. Prewitt, who reported serious injuries, was transported to Liberty Hospital.

According to an arrest report, Prewitt has been informally charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated-first offender, careless and imprudent driving involving an accident, no insurance, no seat belt, and possession on 10 grams or less of marijuana.
