Efforts are underway to expand House of Hope services to Carroll County. Click to hear KMZU’s Kristie Cross speak with Advocate and Volunteer Coordinator Crystal Milligan:
While still in the planning phase, the move would bring a number of services to the area. “We have domestic violence support groups and sexual assault support groups,” said Milligan, “We have spoken with Jeanne Rector from the Carroll County Memorial Hospital and they’re very interested and involved in doing more things with the hospital. We do parenting groups and are in the courts as an advocate for victims of domestic violence. We would just love to help those in Carroll County.”
House of My Father Executive Director Sara Ann Webb Wilson agreed that the two houses working together could greatly strengthen the number and types of programs available to area residents. “With the services we have now, we just have a phone number to where you can call and get help,” said Webb-Wilson, “We are fairly limited in transporting or giving information out over the phone as they call in. It’s extremely important and beneficial that House of Hope begin to work with the House of My Father so we can offer support groups of various kinds. It’s extremely important that we get this started now.”
