The National Lamb Feeders Association’s (NLFA) 2011 Howard Wyman Sheep Industry Leadership School will return to Sioux Falls, S.D., on July 10-13. The school will be under the direction of Mike Casky of the Pipestone Lamb and Wool Program and will focus on ewe-lamb production, lamb feeding and lamb processing in the mid-western states.
Competition for acceptance to this year’s school will be strong so early applications are recommended. Interested individuals must be 20 years of age or older to apply. There is no fee to apply. Application forms are available on the NLFA website at www.nlfa-sheep.org and must be received in the NLFA office by May 2.
A group of 26 participants will be selected and notified. Once accepted, participants will be required to submit a $200 per person registration fee to confirm attendance. While NLFA covers the cost of meals, lodging and tour expenses, each attendee is responsible for the cost of their transportation to the Sioux Falls site.
