Charges have been filed against a Lexington man accused of critically stabbing his wife in the 900 block of Highland Street late Sunday night. Robert Morgan, 42, is now accused of first degree domestic assault, with an alternative charge of attempted second degree murder. Less than two weeks earlier, Morgan was arrested on third degree domestic assault charges.
He is set to be arraigned on the latest allegations Wednesday, the same day the court was set to hear the previous domestic assault case. Morgan is being held in the county jail on a $100,000 bond.
He faces additional charges of second degree burglary, violation of protection order, and property damage related to Sunday night’s incident.
Morgan’s wife filed for divorce Monday.
