UPDATE: 05/18/2021, 4:53 p.m.) – Due to heavy rain fail tonight’s games have been postponed. Make up plans are TBD.

CARROLLTON, Mo. – Rain has soaked most of the KMZU listening area putting a damper on many high school baseball district tournaments. One high school went all out to make their field playable.

Carrollton High School is the host and no. 1 seed in the Class 3 District 16 baseball tournament. The tournament began Friday when Brookfield downed Trenton 12-5. Since then, the tournament has been at idle due to heavy rain fall and wet field conditions.

Coaches, players and administration from C.H.S., the Carrollton Park Superintendent and other members of the community worked diligently to dry the soaked field. Manual labor, rakes, shovels, A.T.V’s and even a helicopter were used. A video and pictures of the drying process can be seen below.

Carrollton will play Brookfield with the first pitch at 4:30 p.m. tonight and Tri County/Gallatin will play South Harrison at 6:30 p.m. The winner of each game will advance to the District Championship game which will be game number three tonight.
