SEDALIA, Mo. — An incident at an elementary school in Sedalia has prompted school officials to notify parents that students will remain inside throughout the day Wednesday.
According to a statement from the Sedalia School District, police were called to the area near Skyline Elementary School in Sedalia after receiving reports that an unidentified man had been seen on school property.
It was determined that while there was no immediate danger to staff or students, additional security would be provided at the school and students would remain inside the school building Wednesday.
District policy requires that all doors be locked from the outside and visitors are required to check in and identify themselves before being allowed to enter the building.
