GRUNDY COUNTY, Mo. — A second autopsy carried out on the body of a Trenton man whose death was ruled a suicide in December of 2017 has confirmed the results of the first autopsy.
According to a news release from the Trenton Police Department, an independent autopsy on the body of 19-year-old Tanner Ward found that Ward had committed suicide. An autopsy in December by the Grundy County Coroner reached the same conclusion.
The autopsy was performed by Frontier Forensics of Kansas City, Kansas.
Speculation about the circumstances of Ward’s death within the Trenton community led officials to order a second autopsy to ensure transparency and accountability in the investigation.
Ward first went missing in June 2017 after he walked away from his home in Trenton. His body was found in a wooded area in Trenton in December 2017.
