LAFAYETTE COUNTY, MO – Human remains located in Lafayette County Sunday afternoon prompted a drowning incident report by Highway Patrol.

Highway Patrol’s statement indicates the body was found floating near the 325 mile marker of the Missouri River in Lafayette County, caught on brush.

Lafayette County officials say today the body is that of an unidentified male.

An investigation will proceed with an autopsy by the county coroner to determine possible cause of death and identification.
