Investigators with the Pettis County Sheriff’s and Coroner’s Offices continued their investigation Monday into the discovery of human remains east of LaMonte in rural Pettis County.
“We continue to follow up on leads and are attempting to positively identify the victim,” stated Sheriff Kevin Bond. “There remains no indication of foul play at this point in the investigation.”
On Friday, a male in his mid-40’s was recovered. Detectives have interviewed several people who came into contact with the man while he was briefly in Sedalia in June and early July. He is believed to have left Sedalia and was on foot en route to Texas around July 11th.
Investigators are also attempting to make contact with the man’s relatives. The investigation into the case continues.
