MONROE COUNTY, Mo.- Troop B of the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department responded to an accident early Tuesday morning that involved a semi tractor trailer.

According to the filed accident report, at approximately 3:40 a.m., Aaron Torticill, 37, of Hudson, Ia., was traveling eastbound on US 24 Highway, 1 mile west of Paris, when he fell asleep at the wheel and crossed the roadway before colliding with a ditch, fence and tree.

Torticill suffered serious injuries as a result and was transported by Monroe County Ambulance to University Hospital for further treatment.
