JOHNSON COUNTY, Mo.—According to the University of Missouri Extension the Century Farm Family program honored over five-thousand farms since 1987. Recently, at the Johnson County 4-H awards banquet the Thomason Family Farm and the Grainger Family Farm joined the list.
Manager for the Johnson County extension office, Sharon Jennings says applicants must meet several criterion for recognition.
Recipients receive a metal sign to flaunt their farm heritage. Jennings adds, recognition value goes beyond the sign.
2020 Century Farm applications become available Feb. 1.
