A judge in Ray County has set a February 2013 start date for the murder trial of Mark Rhodes, 45, of Carrollton. Authorities in the State of California arrested Rhodes in September 2010 following the disappearance of his estranged wife. Prosecutors allege Rhodes, who had a history of domestic violence, was responsible for the death of Tina Rhodes, 44, of Bosworth. Her body was found by a Carroll County farmer in a remote location five days after she was reported missing by family members.
Rhodes was scheduled to go on trial on July 16, 2012, but a motion filed in June stalled the proceedings. A new jury trial date has been set for Feb. 25 – March 1, 2013. A pre-trial conference will take place on Nov. 7, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. Rhodes is being tried in Ray County on a change of venue.
