A Livingston County judge’s son is facing charges of murder in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Blake Valbracht, 29, was arrested following an altercation early Friday morning with an unarmed security guard. According to the Las Vegas Metro Police Department, the guard fell to the ground and became unresponsive.  The security officer was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.  An autopsy is pending.

Detectives said Valbracht was on scene when officers arrived and surrendered. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on one count of second-degree murder.

The case is under review by a committee, according to a clerk with the Clark County District Attorney’s Office.  Formal charges are pending.

Valbracht is the son of Livingston County Judge James Valbracht.
