Judges in Carroll, Saline, and Livingston counties will hear a number of cases Wednesday morning. Seven subpeonas have been issued in the case against a Carrollton man. Theopolis Johnson II, 43, was arrested on two counts of statutory rape related to an incident in late October in rural Carroll County. He was charged last week with two counts of first-degree murder. Representatives from the Boone and Cole County Sheriff’s Offices, as well as the Missouri State Highway Patorl’s Crime Laboratory have been summoned to appear. Johnson’s bond was set at $1 million.
The case against a Marshall man continues Wednesday morning as well. Joseph Tolias, 29, was charged earlier this month with unlawful use of a weapon, domestic assault, and endangering the welfare of a child. He’s being held in the county jail on a $5,000 bond.
In Livingston County, a preliminary hearing is being held for a Chillicothe man arrested in early February for allegedly having sex with a person less than 14 years of age. Richard Berry, 33, has been charged with two counts of statutory sodomy. His bond was set at a $250,000.
