LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Mo. – A Livingston County deputy and his K-9 companion, Zaki, have received a letter of commendation from the Sheriff of Daviess County.

Deputy Mueller and Zaki were called upon to search for a suspect who hid from deputies and federal agents for three days in August, after a $10 million dollar marijuana operation was raided in Daviess County. Mueller and Zaki were in the field about 20 minutes before they uprooted the suspect from a corn field and chased him into the arms of waiting officers.

Federal prosecutors have charged Sergio Medina-Perez, 44, and Miguel Pulido-Maldonado, 27, with manufacturing and distributing a controlled substance.
