KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Justice Department says a bank employee has been sentenced for embezzling more than $200,000 from her employer.
Elisha Nicole Araiza, 36, of Kansas City was sentenced to 21 months in federal prison without parole Thursday and ordered to pay $213,090 in restitution. Tammy Dickinson, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, says Araiza pleaded guilty on April 5, 2016 to embezzlement by a bank employee.
Araiza admitted that she deposited over $213,000 of Bank of America customer checks into her personal account between July 2011 and March of 2015.
