On October 7th 2014 a Kansas City man, 60–year-old Casey M. Widman pleaded guilty to robbing the Brookside Bank Midwest.
Widman, in late December 2013 at the Bank Midwest at 6249 Brookside, Kansas City told a bank teller that he would be making a withdrawal in “all fifties and hundreds” as he paced a black pellet gun on the counter.
After leaving the bank with a total of $838 dollars, Widman escaped from the scene and was later found and arrested at a gas station.
Widman has now been sentenced to 16 years in federal prison without parole. This was because he was charged as a career offender due to his 92 other criminal convictions including two other bank robberies.
