A Kansas City resident has been found guilty of multiple felonies for his involvement in a home invasion.
According to a police report, Re-Quon Dillard, 21, was found guilty of assault in the first degree, robbery in the first degree and armed criminal action.
The incident occurred on February 17, 2017 when three men, including Dillard, grabbed a teenager off the street at gunpoint and forcing the victim into his residence. The victims grandfather was shot multiple times while trying to intervene. The men walked away with a purse and fled the residence.
The shooting victim was rushed to North Kansas City Hospital and survived. The jury recommended sentences of 16 years for the assault, eleven years for robbery and five years for the armed criminal action charged.
Formal sentencing is scheduled for April 18.
