CASS COUNTY, Mo. — A Kansas man faces initial arraignment Wednesday afternoon on charges resulting from a crash involving a Grandview School bus.
49-year-old Coley G. Waters, of Kansas City, Ks., will appear at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Johnson County on a felony count of driving while intoxicated, causing serious physical injury as well as for two counts of assault in the second degree, leaving the scene of an accident and misdemeanor operating a vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner involving an accident.
Waters crashed into a bus Saturday as it returned from a Holden track meet, resulting in eight students being treated for minor injuries.
Bates City Police arrested Waters after he fled the scene on foot. He is currently held at the Johnson County Jail on $50,000 cash only bond.
