LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Mo—A Kansas driver finds himself in a bind near the Utica Junction.
At around 11:00 p.m. Monday evening Chillicothe Fire Department received a page of a vehicle fire on 36, one mile east of the Utica Junction. When the fire department arrived it discovered that two sheriff’s deputies were already on the scene along with the owner. Prior to arrival of the fire department, the two deputies used two fire extinguishers and bottled water to calm the flames. The fire department then used a watering can to aid in cooling the hub. The owner,Delfred Ashbaker of Kiowa, Ks explained he was driving along 36 when the front-passenger tire of his vehicle began locking-up and he noticed smoke rising from it. Ashbaker made arrangements for a tow.
