arrested-300x225KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City man was taken into custody Wednesday morning on suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Donald Richie, 32, was taken into custody around 10:35 a.m. by Jackson County officials. Richie was subsequently charged with tampering in the first degree, possession of methamphetamine, driving while suspended, driving while revoked and leaving the scene of an accident, all of which are felony charges.

Richie was additionally charged with careless and imprudent driving involving a crash, having no insurance and not wearing a seat belt.

Richie was transferred to the Jackson County Jail. He was placed on a 12-hour hold.
