James A. Rhea, 32, of Kansas City, MO, has been sentenced in federal court for a charge of attempting to distribute child pornography over the internet. In August of 2010, James A. Rhea took his computer to a store for repairs when an employee discovered over 400 images and videos of child pornography and reported it to police.

During questioning, Rhea admitted to receiving the images and videos through email and web chats and in November 2013 he plead guilty to the charge of attempted distribution. According to court documents, Rhea continued downloading images on his cell phone after his laptop was confiscated.

Rhea will spend the next 10 years in federal prison without parole.
