KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Police Department released information about a stand-off that occurred Sunday night. Around 8 p.m. Sunday, law enforcement was called out to the 11400 block of Delmar for a disturbance. When officers arrived, they were informed that a family member was involved in a disruption, accessed a gun and pointed it at family members in the home. The suspect left the property shortly, then returned. The family members were removed by law enforcement and taken to safety. Officers surrounded the residence. Around 9 p.m. officers called for tactical resources and negotiators to the scene. Around 10:15 p.m. the subject exited the residence and police took him into custody. Officers noticed what appeared to be a fire that was set by the suspect inside the home. The Kansas City Fire Department responded and put out a small fire. No one else was inside the residence. No names were given. An investigation is ongoing.
