Those frightening memories came flooding back for 90-year-old World War II veteran Arthur Barnett when news broke last week about the devastating quake and tsunami in Japan. Barnett said it’s going to take a long time for the country to rebuild from Friday’s earthquake. “It’s almost unbelievable. I can’t describe it. I can only imagine what has taken place over there,” said Barnett.

Japan’s Prime Minister Naoto Kan says the country is experiencing its greatest hardships since World War II as it tackles the aftermath of an earthquake, tsunami and growing nuclear crisis.
