A local city official has been elected Vice President of the Missouri Municipal League. Higginsville Mayor Bill Kolas has been a member of the organization for four years. Click to hear KMZU’s Chelsea Wade talk with Kolas:
“I think this new capacity will allow me to help cities grow and be better servants. It is important that we keep everyone abreast of what is going on in the legislative process so we can make good decisions,” Kolas said.
Nearly seven hundred people attended this week’s Missouri Municipal League Conference in Branson. “We covered a number of topics during the conference. We examined things such as the Sunshine Law and ethics in governing which can be detrimental to a city if they don’t know how to handle it,” Kolas said.
More than 600 cities are members of the organization.
