County Health Rankings will be the topic of a community forum in Lexington Tuesday evening. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with Lafayette County Health Department Administrator Nola Martz:
The Health Depeartment hopes to use the forum to show people what those numbers mean. “What the rankings do is, they basically are a comparison,” said Martz, “It’s not necessarily that it’s best county to worst county. It just gives you an idea that if they took that data that’s the same data collected on every county and they put people in 1 to 115 order, where would you county fall?”
Martz says Lafayette County has problems with chronic diseases connected to tobacco use.
Time will also be taken to discuss the results of a recent community survey. A link to the survey has been posted at lafayettecountyhealth.org.
That meeting gets underway at 6:00 in the basement of the First Baptist Church in Lexington.
