Missouri — Lafayette County Health Department (LCHD) has confirmed two new cases of the novel coronavirus.
Lafayette now reports a total of 22 confirmed cases. The LCHD says they are working with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to identify all people who may have come into close contact with the individual.
Ray County has now confirmed their third case of covid-19.
Kansas University Professor Anthony Fehr has been studying coronaviruses since 2012. Fehr said how this novel coronavirus attacks the respiratory system is scary. He said couple that with how contagious it is, he is concerned.
Health departments are urging the public to take appropriate precautions including good hygiene, social distancing, and limiting in-person contact.
