CONCORDIA, Mo. — The Lafayette County Cattlemen’s Association will hold their annual scholarship dinner and auction Thursday, July 7, 2016 at the Concordia Community Center, at 802 S. Gordon St. Tickets can still be purchased at the door for $25. This includes an 8 ounce Certified Hereford Beef Ribeye steak, sides, dessert, and a drink.
“All the proceeds from this will be going towards our Lafayette County Cattlemen’s scholarship fund. We’ve been giving away scholarships since 1977,” says Jeff Bergman, President of the Lafayette County Cattlemen’s Association. He says giving scholarships away help keep our youth in the agriculture community. “You give them a scholarship to help them out and get them to school. Hopefully then they can keep agriculture on their mind throughout the school time, and when they graduate they can come back to the farm and/or be involved in agriculture in any way that they can.”
Listen to KMZU’s Nathan Stuedle speak with Jeff Bergman.
The social hour and silent auction start at 6 p.m., followed by the steak dinner and live auction at 7 p.m. For questions call the Lafayette County Extension Office at 660-584-3658 or Jeff Bergman at 660-641-2405.
