LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Mo. — An Independence woman was injured in a Lafayette County accident Monday morning. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Lee’s Summit resident, Joshua R. Morgan, 35, was driving a GMC Sierra on Highway D, approximately a quarter of a mile south of US-24 when he was struck head-on by a Pontiac Grand Am that crossed the center line, driven by Independence resident, Sharon L. Cureton, 57. Morgan was uninjured. Cureton was transferred via life-flight to Research Hospital with serious injuries.
