Employees at the Richmond Apple Market learned Monday that they will soon be out of a job. According to owner Bob MacDonald, a closing date has not yet been decided, but the grocery will shut its doors after selling what remains on their shelves.
The Medicine Shoppe pharmacy that rents space in the building plans to remain open. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with VP of Operations Monica Ritter:
Apple Market is the only grocery store in Richmond. Once the store is gone, the only place to buy will be the Wal-mart.
The union grocery also delivers to customers; that service will not be available in town once Apple Market closes.
MacDonald announced plans to sell in November.
