WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Press Release) — After winning three out of four games last week, including taking two of three from then-No. 11 Emporia State the Mules Baseball team moved up 10 spots to No. 16 in this week’s American Baseball Coaches Association/Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Poll.
The Mules (22-9, 20-4 MIAA) tallied 230 points in the poll to move up 10 spots and in to the top 20. St. Cloud State, who beat the Mules 2-1 in Houston at the beginning of the season, continues to hold down the top spot with 470 points. The Huskies are 25-1 on the season. Millersville was second with Franklin Pierce, Colorado Mesa and Tampa rounding out the top five.
Two other MIAA teams appear in the poll with Emporia State at No. 19 and Missouri Western at No. 29. Missouri Southern, the Mules’ opponent this coming weekend, is receiving votes.
UCM is back in action on Wednesday night hosting Southwest Baptist at 6 p.m. at Crane Stadium/Tompkins Field.
