(Update at 3:30 p.m.) – A spokesperson with the Missouri State Highway Patrol said the incident in Bosworth Wednesday afternoon was a domestic dispute.  No weapons were found and there were no hostages.  The incident ended peacefully and no arrests were made.  The names of those involved will not be released unless charges are filed.

Original story:

Carroll County scanner traffic indicated that law enforcement was dispatched to a home in the 200 block of Huron on the south side of Bosworth near the school at about 12:15 p.m. Wednesday.  Initial reports said a male was inside the residence with two other individuals making threats against them and was armed with a shotgun. Dispatchers have reported that the individual is ex-special forces and does have a history of violence. Eventually one individual apparently made it outside of the home; the suspect remains inside with a potential female hostage and many firearms at his disposal. Additional reports said officers on the scene report the individual was not observed to be brandishing a weapon; however, police have called for outside assistance and have established a perimeter around the home. This is an ongoing story and we will bring you more information as it becomes available.
