JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — State officials at the Capitol in Jefferson City will hold ceremonies on Monday, February 14 honoring the sacrifice of Missouri’s servicemen and women.

Events will start with a reception with House and Senate members in the Capitol Mezzanine. A joint session of the House and Senate will follow and a number of honored guests and speakers will be recognized on the floor. Major General Danner, Major General Savre, and Brigadier General Tibbets are among those who will be introduced to speak on the floor.

Representatives from a respected Washington, D.C. defense-oriented think tank Lexington Institute will present the results of a study examining importance of military child education and its connection to strengthening bases and supporting military missions.

Events will happen at the capitol beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, February 14 at the Capitol and will last until 2:30 p.m. For a full schedule of events visit the Department of Economic Development’s website.
